The research project Loneliness and the Built Environment, carried out at Tampere University as a collaboration among different disciplines and led by Fernando Nieto and Rosana Rubio, has received the second prize in the 2026 International Innovative Design for Health Award organised by the International Union of Architects (UIA). The award ceremony was held on 2 July at the UIA World Congress of Architects celebrated in Barcelona. The announcement of the winners can be consulted here.
